Pocket Prompt is a Flutter mobile application that I created in the Spring of 2023 as part of the team project for the Hybrid Mobile Development course at New Brunswick Community College. The application, which has both a dark mode and a light mode, is meant to help authors generate prompts to use as inspiration for their writing.
Users begin by creating a world that is used to make the story's setting. They provide a name, a significant landmark, the world's size, and the world's environment. Next, they create a character, selecting a species, name, archetype, and profession. Third, they create a new prompt by giving it a title and subtitle, selecting one of their created worlds and one of their characters from the list of prefilled Genre options.
Users can use the prompt to write a story once they create it. If they forget details of the prompt, the floating action button at the bottom of the story-writing screen can refresh their memory. This project was my first introduction to programming mobile applications, and it's something I hope to revisit now that my skills have improved exponentially.
